Volunteer Assistance
There will be 2 volunteers assigned to the role of Volunteer Assistance or (VAs) each session. The VAs main responsibility will be to assist the Volunteer Director with the communication, support, supervision, coaching, recognition and evaluation of each volunteer (approx. 50) that attends that session. |

Responsibilities
- Provide and/or implement behaviours strategies for performance management in volunteers
- Directly assist or provide strategies and guidance to volunteers
- Assists with volunteer orientation, development, and training
- Assist with volunteer recognition and administration
- Attend and/or facilitate daily Skip, Nook and Area Meetings
- Provides a written evaluation for each volunteer and recommendations based on findings to the Volunteer Director
- Serves as a resource for camp staff that directly affects the safety, welfare, wellness and of the volunteers
- Serve on the staff team, working to create a healthy cabin and camp environment to bring positive changes in behaviours, attitudes, and values
- Responds to general inquiries related to volunteers

Requirements
- Previous Camp Goodtimes experience
- Previous experience in the management or leadership of volunteers or staff
- Must be available to stay on-site for the duration of the session applied for
- Must attend the entire duration of our overnight Training Weekend at our site in Maple Ridge or successfully complete the Volunteer Distance Education Package (only if pre-approved by Volunteer Director, prior to acceptance)
- In ADDITION to attending training weekend, you must also attend a 7-hour supplemental training held in Vancouver
- Must be at least 19 years old by June 30th of the camp year you are applying to. Teen Program volunteers must be at least 22 years old by June 1 of the year you are applying to
- Obtain Standard First-Aid (renewed every 3 years) and CPR-C (renewed every year) certification and submit copies of them to our office by June 30th
- Have a Criminal Record Search performed (within one year of camp) and submitted to our office by June 30th
- Submit proof of having received 2 doses of the Measles Vaccination by June 30th
