Skip

Camper cabin groups are divided by age and gender. Each cabin group is then assigned at least 2 Skips, with one always being a returning volunteer.

 

The responsibility of each Skip is to be aware of their assigned campers’ safety and hygiene 24/7, as well as assisting the program team and activity supervisors at the various activities throughout the session.

Responsibilities

  • Be aware of assigned participants safety and hygiene  24/7
  • Assist the program team and activity supervisors at various activities
  • Provide and/or implement behaviours strategies in participants
  • Assist or provide strategies and guidance to co-volunteers  
  • Provides a written evaluation (Camper TAGS) for each assigned camper and recommendations based on findings to the Coordinator, Programs and Support 
  • Serves as a resource for camp staff that directly affects the safety, welfare, wellness and of the participants
  • Serve on the staff team, working to create a healthy cabin and camp environment to bring positive changes in behaviours, attitudes, and values
  • Responds to general participant inquiries
