Family Program(2 adult caregivers plus children 0-20 years old)
The Camp Goodtimes Family Program provides an opportunity for families with a child diagnosed by cancer to reconnect, have fun and exchange social support with other adult and child campers. Our scheduling includes time for rest and revitalization. Although families spend the majority of their time at Family Program participating in activities together, adult- and child-only time is also scheduled. Family Program can accommodate the immediate family of a child diagnosed with cancer, including up to two adult caregivers. Qualified medical and social-emotional support is available on-site to ensure that all participants are comfortable and cared for. |
Each family at Family Program is assigned a volunteer “Host” to assist them with travelling to and from activities, learning Camp Goodtimes culture and supervising children when necessary. Families sleep in family units in heated buildings. Most of the time, families are together and supervision is the responsibility of the parents or caregivers. Health & Safety Medical support is available on-site 24 hours a day, but parents are expected to provide regular treatment-related care to their children.
