The Exploration Project (18 - 20 Years Old)
We are all unique individuals. Each one of us has a story to tell. Each story is important. The Exploration (EXP) Project is a chance to come together in a group setting to explore self and gain tangible life skills. The goal of the EXP Project is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where we can share our experiences and learn useful lifelong capabilities. Activities will focus on self reflection, self empowerment, and acquiring knowledge of activities that will help you live a healthy and happy life.
The program is open to youth who are 18-20 years of age and have had cancer, are siblings of those who have or have had cancer or who are bereaved siblings.
EXP / July 17 - 20, 2019
We are excited that starting in 2019 we will be rolling out a new format for our EXP Program!
Offered to our 18 to 21-year-old camp participants, the EXP Program will focus on using the outdoors as a means to gain self-confidence, resilience, and perseverance as well as teach tangible skills to carry on into your everyday life through a 3-night, 4-day program. EXP participants will spend part of their time on site at Loon Lake and part off site in Golden Ears Provincial Park. While at Loon Lake, participants will have the chance to learn campsite set up skills, leave no trace ethics, and what goes into planning and packing for an outdoor trip. While at Golden Ears, our participants will run the show ensuring the site is set up properly, meals are cooked and prepared, and that any excursions we do from there we are properly equipped for. We hope this new program will inspire our young adults to challenge themselves out in nature and use the outdoors as a way to step out of their comfort zone and learn more about themselves as individuals.
Please complete the summer application and submit it by April 30, 2019.
