Health & Safety

Camp Goodtimes is an accredited summer camp for children with cancer and their families. It provides the best possible environment for a safety-minded camping experience.

With 24 hour on-site medical supervision, and a direct link to medical specialist if needed, and all instructors certified and trained in safety, parents can be the health and safety of all campers is a priority.

Prior to your visit to the Canadian Cancer Society's Camp Goodtimes we need to inform you of our current immunization policies as recommended by the Fraser Health Medical Health Officers and British Columbia's Center for Disease Control (BCCDC). As always, our concern is for the health of all campers, volunteers, and staff who take part in Camp Goodtimes. To review our current Measels, Mumps, and Rubella Immunization Policy click here.

Medical Staff

Health care practitioners at Camp Goodtimes bring the expertise and professional standards of their field to provide a high level of care in an environment quite different from a hospital or clinic. Where else but at Camp Goodtimes will you find nurses and doctors doing their work dressed as cartoon heroes?

The on-site medical facility, or “Med Shed”, supports the medical needs of all campers and volunteers and a health care team is available 24 hours a day.  Nursing staff are on site for all programs, all summer long, and physicians are a part of the health care team for the Kids Camp programs. There are protocols in place if a camper has special health requirements.

The closest medical facility is a 20 minutes from camp and BC’s Children’s Hospital is approximately a 70 minute drive.
